This visa allows people of Pacific island countries and Timor-Leste to live and work in Australia permanently.
For 2025-26, there are now two streams of the Pacific Engagement visa (subclass 192).
Pacific Engagement visa (subclass 192) ballots from 1 May 2025 are specific to each stream.
Known as the ‘Pacific Engagement visa’, this stream is for eligible Pacific island and Timor-Leste nationals.
Ballot dates for the 2025-26 program year are yet to be announced.
Pacific Engagement visa (subclass 192) - Pacific Engagement stream
The Pacific Engagement visa (subclass 192) – Treaty stream (Tuvalu) is for Tuvaluan nationals only and implements Australia’s obligations under the Australia-Tuvalu Falepili Union treaty.
The Treaty stream ballot for Tuvalu nationals opened on 16 June 2025 and will close on 18 July 2025.
