The information on this page is for you if:
- you have changed education providers since your current Student visa was granted and you need a new Student visa to finish your course, or
- you need more than 12 months to finish your course, and your provider has given you more time to finish your course, and you need a new Student visa to finish your course.
If you have changed providers or need more than 12 months to finish your course, you do not meet the course completion exemption to apply in Australia.
You must be outside Australia when you lodge your visa application and when your new visa is granted.
Having to apply from outside Australia does
not mean you cannot return to Australia to finish your course. You can still apply for another student visa to complete your studies. As with any visa application, you must meet the visa requirements, and a new visa is not guaranteed.
