Australia is excited to welcome the PNG Chiefs into the
National Rugby League (NRL) in 2028.
There will be special visa arrangements to support PNG Chiefs’ players, club officials, fans and media making travel to Australia easier.

- The PNG Chiefs NRL team’s players, coaches and officials can travel to Australia during the playing season, including for pre-season and post-season training, events and related activities
- Valid for up to 12 months
- Travel to and from Australia for the duration of your visa.
- Allows NRL related work and activities
- Applicants to satisfy health and character requirements

Visa for fans
- PNG Chiefs fans can travel to Australia during the playing season to attend matches and support the team
- Valid for up to 12 months
- Travel to and from Australia, for multiple short periods of stay, for the duration of your visa
- Does not permit work
- Applicants to satisfy health, character and genuine traveller requirements

Visa for media
- For media professionals to cover NRL games and related activities
- Will be valid for up to 12 months to cover the season
- Travel to and from Australia for the duration of your visa for the purpose of NRL related media work and activities
