The Department has dedicated Business, Industry and Regional Outreach (BIRO) officers to provide information on migration to:
- business
- industry, including professional and industry associations and unions
- government agencies at all levels
- regional Australia stakeholders.
BIRO officers engage with stakeholders across the country to increase understanding of visa pathway options to help employers fill vacant positons where Australian workers are unavailable.

Using a migration agent
BIRO officers cannot provide migration advice to individuals.
If you would like independent migration advice, you can use a registered migration agent. You can also speak to a legal practitioner. Only registered migration agents and legal practitioners can charge for immigration assistance.
